EV Range

Understanding Electric Vehicle Range

Just think of "range" as the "distance to empty" indicator you've seen in a gas-powered car. The amount of charge an EV's battery holds is comparable to the size of a conventional car's fuel tank.

What Does EV Range Look Like?

We know range is more than just a number to you. So, enter your location below and select the vehicle you're interested in. We'll show you what its EPA estimated range based on a full charge might look like on a map. Keep in mind that range depends on many factors, and your range may vary significantly with conditions such as outside temperature, road conditions, highway versus city driving, accessory and climate control use, driving style, vehicle use, vehicle maintenance, lithium-ion battery age and state of health.

Actual range may vary.

We Thought About Range So You Don't Have To

Does Speed Affect EV Range?

High speeds have a negative effect on an EV's range, but heavy-footed acceleration affects it even more. Moderate acceleration helps get more from every charge.

Does Temperature Affect EV Range?

Outside temperatures will have an impact on range. But, here's a trick for EV drivers: "precondition" the vehicle while plugged in. It uses your home's energy to pre-heat or pre-cool the vehicle's battery and can even heat or cool the interior cabin. Easily pre-program your pre-conditioning times based on your schedule.

Can You Tow With an EV?

>With an F-150® Lightning®, you bet. However, just like with a gas engine, towing will impact range. Because trailers naturally add weight and aerodynamic drag. So plan ahead. Find public charging locations along your route, right from your touchscreen, with Ford Power My Trip.

How Long Do EV Batteries Last?

Ford EV batteries are covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, guaranteed to retain a minimum of 70% of their original capacity.*

*The High Voltage Battery is not covered if it is damaged due to improper vehicle storage. Refer to your Owner's Manual for required storage procedures necessary to protect the High Voltage Battery.
